KING 5 <3 Trick or Vote!
Thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who came out to Trick or Vote yesterday! Together we got hella candy, ate hella thai food, and knocked on HELLA doors. Thousands and thousands of soon-to-be voters will now be turning in their ballots, thanks to you!
We'll be putting up a full recap and pictures soon, and in the meantime, enjoy this coverage by KING 5!
Steven Colbert: Approve Referendum 71
Basically.
Omega + Newman
Two of the NW's finest (even if one lives in LA, big woop) get together on this newish collaboration. Ohmega Watts is one of Seattle's finest beatcrafters, and is a welcome addition after migrating northbound up I-5 from Portland a year or so ago. Newman helms much of the production for indie hop stalwarts Giant Panda (though they would probably hate that label). Enjoy!
Baby, it's cold outside
Okay, so maybe it's warm. But winter's just around the corner, and the Bus is always one for being prepared. We're partnering with our friends over at Absinthe Films to present Neverland, their newest foray into snowboarding madness.

You can check it out live and in person - the Bus will be on hand at September 17th at the Egyptian Theater in Seattle, and on October 2nd at WWU in Bellingham.

Come through, check it out, say what's up. And check out the extra sweet preview below.
Go Jody go!
You may know Jody Hall as a cupcake purveyor and noted big Bus homie. She's all that... and more. Jody's also become a national spokesperson on health care reform, and how it affects small business. And when we say national, we mean national. Check out this segment from last night's NBC news! Way to be Jody!
Raise it up
You are perfect. Do as VoteBot does. Vote. August 18th is the deadline. Let’s do this.
Oh hey guys
Remember how we mentioned that your boys the Blue Scholars were doing it big? Well, here's the video for 808, one of the lead singles off their new album. Get 'em.
Well played, boys
Two things the Bus loves: good music and smart people. No group better embodies the coming together of these two things than local heroes Blue Scholars.
Metropolis
Ah, Sao Paulo, you do it every time. Not a bad way to see the city.
Kid Cudi!
One of the best looking videos we've seen in a while! Enjoy.
Here's looking at you
Dope sauce. Just pure dope sauce. Enjoy!
The Girls' Guide to Rocking
Yes. We love this. Tonight, at the Vera Project, you have the opportunity - nay, the bedazzled pleasure - to see Kate Rose, OG Riot Grrrl, music journalist (Spin, This American Life, little things like that), and all around badass, read from her new book: The Girls' Guide to Rocking. Kate kicks it off at 7:30, and you should be there.
When love goes pear shaped.
Leave it to one of our friends in the progressive health care community (see if you can pick him out) to also be involved in this schweet local short film - The Belgian Pretzel. Word on the street is it swept the 48 Hour Film Festival awards - and it's easy to see why. Wicked good.
Weekly Cash Money Moment - DJ Cash Money
It's been a little while since we had a Cash Money Moment (and for this we apologize). In the interest of broadening out definition of Cash Money, here's a video (courtesy of Earwacks) of DJ Cash Money, a Philly stalwart. Boo-yah.
Keelay, Zaire, Lang
A new little vid from Keelay and Zaire, featuring Boom Bap Project stalwart/former Seattlite Karim, aka NIghtClubber Lang. It's an oh-so-solid head nodder, with a video that touches on some golden age lamping around town vibes. Enjoy!
Washington in four minutes
Well, almost all of Washington - from Cour D'Alene, Idaho to Bremerton, it's a pretty cool sample of the state. We dig.
The Corner: 23rd and Union
Now this is cool. Local photographer/artist par excellance Inye Wokoma is partnering with KUOW producer Jenny Asarnow and street artist NKO to produce The Corner, an interactive ode/celebration/memorial for the intersection of 23rd Avenue and East Union Street.

It's a corner with deep historical resonance, and the flashpoint of the city's ongoing struggles with gentrification and displacement.

The project aims to bring the stories and histories to light for folks who aren't already a part of this communi
Enjoy summery days
On your bike! Even if it is an ad, it's still purty....
Students running the world - now with video!
So remember all those young organizers we told you about? The ones who brought hundreds and hundreds of high schoolers together to support their local causes? The ones in Seattle and Yakima? Good, you should remember them!

The Bus just got video from both events, and dang if they aren't impressive. We could gush, but the leaders speak for themselves.
Move a little better
Curitiba! It's the goodness!
