Thomas Aquinas is a great philosopher. The banana-man is pretty good too.
The Calvinist man misunderstands "predestination." Predestination is God's foreknowledge, for example of those whose names will be (are) written in the book of life. God's knowledge is not restricted by time. God sees now what happens in the future "as it happens." His foreknowledge (and our predestination) is based on his knowing what we will choose not on choosing for us. God is profoundly good. He is not a puppet master. God gives us all the grace to serve him but we choose to cooperate with that grace or not. God knows before hand what we choose (because he foresees us choose) but we still choose.
The Buddhist man imagines there is knowledge when actually almost everything is belief. We don't know the sun will rise tomorrow. We believe it. The Buddhist doesn't know his friend, he believes he knows his friend. Now some beliefs may seem to have little doubt to them but to a logical mind there is less doubt that God, the first mover, exists then that the man the Buddhist believes he knows will turn out to be someone else. The Buddhist, by religious definition, cultivates a self-centered subjective mind to which objective logic has about as much interest as it has to an insane man. Since God is The Objective Fact, one can only pray for both Buddhist and insane man to regain their senses.
The video-maker who would have us believe that suffering means there is no God, should reflect on Jesus Christ, true God and true man, suffering and dying on a cross so that we all might find eternal life with God before the video-maker makes another video.
