what people are saying

Yesterday, as Wall Street was going in the toilet, as Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch were falling, (with AIG not far behind), and the Stock Market dropped 504 points, John McCain (while on the stump) uttered the words " the fundamentals of our economy are strong". He said it several times.Does McCain have ANY understanding at all of what is happening with our economy? If not, then how can he possibly know how to fix it?

I like this ad, it's so dramatic and serious. The Obama team is really going hard on McCain, and they came out with this ad pretty fast. It had to be the stupid thing ever for McCain to say that the fundamentals of our economy is strong...what the hell was he think? He had to know a statement like that would prompt a TV ad. They say he was trying to reassure the American people when he said that, but I don't think the American people need anymore reassuring, what they need is some facts and whats going to happen, not about reassuring people to make them feel better. McCain's job isn't to be our therapist, not like we need one ;-) I do recommend one for the McCain campaign to help fix their problem of pathologically lying all the time...now that's a reason to get a therapist. OK so here's the ad, "Fundamentals",If you are a concerned American worried about the economy, then why not check out Obama's economic plan Obama's economic planIs it fair to call this Fundamental-Gate.Related Posts New Obama Ad Featuring Voters DWC Checklist 4 Change: Part 2 DWC Checklist 4 Change: Part 10 New Obama Ad, “Book” Obama Staffer Effectively Debunks McCain Ad Ouch…McCain surrogate doesn’t know the difference between Bush and McCain

Goddammit! John Judis has a suggestion for Barack Obama, in light of John McCain's stunning disconnect from reality:all a press conference tomorrow to discuss the financial crisis. Do it in New York City. Even better, on Wall Street. Begin with a fifteen minute statement outlining why the crisis has occured and what, generally, the government should do about it. Contrast your approach sharply with that of McCain and the Republicans. Take questions for an hour from reporters. Finally, issue a challenge to McCain to debate the issue by week's end. And offer to allow McCain to bring Sarah Palin and Phil Gramm at his side if he needs them to advise him on the issues.Yes. Make John McCain look like the fool he is.Thanks to Kevin K. at Rumproast for letting me borrow my post title from his post without asking. Now go visit his blog a bunch of times every day.
