The 4 Absolutes and quiet time in the early days of Alcoholics Anonymous12 min 15 sec - Dec 24, 2006The 4 Absolutes = Honesty, Purity, Unselfishness and Love. Much of the spiritual principles that Alcoholics Anonymous have today came from the Oxford Group. Meditation or being in the presence of God was practiced to establish that relationship with God. The 4 absolutes was considered Gods will when the Oxford Group practiced quiet time. The 4 spiritual principles of surrender, sharing, restitution and guidance came from the Oxford group. The opposite of dishonesty is honesty, the opposite of resentment is purity, the opposite of selfishness is unselfishness, the opposite of fear is love.
