War is damn messy … The only thing that is “exact” about it is a direct hit on a bombing target … We kill those we were aiming for … and those the bad guys were using as human shields … It is their doing, not ours. We cannot have our end of a war dictated by the enemy’s ability to tuck themselves in groups of villagers … villagers whom they tortured or killed some of as a device to get the rest of the hapless villagers to remain where they are and do as they are told … as was the case in the recent US bombing that had civilian deaths involved.
