In 1993 and 1994, John McCain voted against legislation to protect abortion clinics from violent "pro-life" extremists, putting women and their doctors at risk.
The Jed Report is up with a harsh video aimed at John McCain and domestic terrorists. Lewison also has an in depth post HERE detailing McCain's refusal to protect women from abortion violence. Remember, McCain also voted against the Violence Against Women Act. When McCain had a chance to vote for a law designed to protect women and their doctors from anti-abortion terrorists, the FACE Act (Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances), he voted against it. Twice. Even though doctors had been killed, shot, bombed and women terrorized, the very activity he sought to link with Obama through William Ayers, McCain still voted against it. According to the New York Times the FACE Act did the following: The measure, which the Clinton Administration has said it "strongly supports," would allow the F.B.I. to investigate attacks on clinics and those who perform abortions and permit the Attorney General to seek injunctions. According to the Times, 28 Senators who had voted AGAINST federal funding for abortions voted FOR the FACE act because it was a matter of law enforcement, not abortion. John McCain was not among those sensible souls.
