For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast, asserted the apostle Paul to the church in Ephesus. Jesus had earlier said, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). Grace through faith alone are the hallmarks of Christian salvation. Not so when one turns to Mormonism.
