There were no kids in the room, she was talking to television reporters only, nice try though, now that we know there were no kids, whats the excuse now? LOL, palin cost mccain the election, thank you carabu barbie! you rock!!
Well I think she just wanted to put it in terms the kids would understand. But if she is elected Vice President, She will indeed be the President of the Senate. I don't think she needs help on that.
Told you Barbie was empty headed. I or you, who are not running for any office, do not need to know politics to such a degree that we know at all times who is in charge of what. But even we know that the VP is not in charge of the senate. Can some body by her a clue and help her know what the hell she is talking about? Please! Anybody will do! more about "Sarah Palin: VP Is 'In Charge Of Unit...", posted with vodpod
Q: Brandon Garcia wants to know, “What does the Vice President do?”PALIN: That’s something that Piper would ask me! … hey’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom.Damn you, Dick Cheney! Look what you have wrought!
Yesterday, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) sat for an interviewwith KUSA, an NBC affiliate in Colorado. In response to a question sentto the network by a third grader at a local elementary school aboutwhat the Vice President does, Palin erroneously argued that the VicePresident is “in charge of the United States Senate“:Q: Brandon Garcia wants to know, “What does the Vice President do?”PALIN: That’s something that Piper would ask me! … hey’rein charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get inthere with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that willmake life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom. Watch it:Indeed, while Palin suggests that questions about what the VicePresident does is something only her daughter Piper would ask, Palinherself asked this very question on national television in July. Apparently, she still hasn’t learned the correct answer.Article I of the Constitution establishes an exceptionally limited role for the Vice President — giving the office holder a vote only when the Senate is “equally divided”:The Vice President of the United States shall bePresident of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equallydivided. Moreover, the U.S. Senate website explains that the modern role of Vice Presidents has been to preside over the Senate “only on ceremonial occasions.”ThinkProgress contacted Senior Assistant Paliamentarian Peter Robinson, who also disputed Palin’s characterization of the Vice President’srole: In modern practice the Vice President doesn’t really control the Senate. … If anyone has a responsibility to try to govern the Senate, it’s the responsibility of the two leaders.UPDATE: ThinkProgress obtained the following statement from Jim Manley, spokesman to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV):Thiscomment is all the more puzzling because this is at least the 2nd timeshe has said this. Gov Palin needs to re-read or perhaps read for thefirst time the Constitution. While the Vice President presi...

Palin, when asked by a second grader, "What does the Vice President do?" tells him that the Vice President is in charge of the Senate. Ironically, this is the very same question Palin was seeking an answer to earlier this year. Apparently, no one gave her an answer. Hint to Palin: Google may help you out on this one. Try searching, "Powers of Vice President." I hope Brandon Garcia has adults at home that can correct the potential next Vice President of the United States. Someone should tell her what a Vice President does before she shows up to work and starts ordering Harry Reid around.
