Controversial!

A Paul Washer Lecture based on today's evangelists lack of guiding men to properly giving their life over to Christ. It is not about a five minute prayer, but, a lifetime of repentance. I present this as I've had so many negative comments about what so called Christians call "Doom and gloom" messages. Well, it's your doom, but, the message is the Gospel truth, whether you believe it or not, is irrelevent.

Probably the most important issue facing the church today.

I was a one who was saved at 14 "in spite of praying the sinners prayer, not because of it", as Paul Washer so correctly puts it. It took me many years until I was almost 40, after struggling with much frustration and almost constant failure to understand what it means to be truly saved by Jesus dying on the cross for me and to understand what Ephesians 2:8-9 means 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. I finally came to understand that it has to begin and end with God. God has become real to me. I fully understand why Paul Washer has 'waged a war' against this. All the trying in the flesh to become what God wants you to become, is futile as you will fail as I found out the hard way. Please make time to listen to this if you have no reality of God in your life and possibly still no assurance of your faith, yet have been a Christian for many years. It might just save your life.

To follow on from the previous message; The Gospel Holds the Power, I would like to encourage those reading this message to consider how to administer the power of the Gospel effectively. I know from personal experience that it was so in my own conversion, and as a result, much of what is discussed in this video was very true in my own life too. Not particularly that it is wrong to be led in a prayer of repentance, but that the source of ones assurance of salvation is anchored often on the sincerity of the decision we make, rather than the work that the Holy Spirit has begun within our heart.One thing we must remember is that the power to save lies solely in the Hands of God, and must be a work solely carried out by the Holy Spirit. In Ephesians 2:8,9 we are told that it is “by grace we are saved, through faith; and that not of ourselves, but it is a gift from God, not of works that anyone should boast.” We are also told in John 6:44 that “no-one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws (from root word meaning - to drag), and I will raise him up at the last day.”As Christians responding to the Great Commission of Christ made to all of us to preach the Gospel, we must learn to preach it correctly, and learn promptly how to administer it correctly too, when people respond in faith.
