Looks like she got so caught up in the moment as if she go some sort of sexual gratification out of slamming anyone who is not "American" enough for her. She is into S&M. This is self inflicted pain. We are feeling more gratified the deeper she puts her foot into her mouth. I can hardly hold my composure. In the words of the great Chris Matthews, HA! This is fun watching her self distruct!

"Begging for mercy" can't change your true color, it will only reflect your character, or lack of. At least stand by your word!

You clearly spoke what you wanted to say, and we hear you!

Please Minnesota! Vote this woman OUT of congress!!!

It's really funny (and hypocritical) how Bachman says that the voters' choice is between government as the answer to our nation's problems or liberty, when she herself is running for congress!! If government is not the answer to our problems and 'liberty' is, why does she want to serve in the *government*!?! When republicans want less regulation to help big corportations and the super rich so that they can exploit the rest of us, government is the problem and they want liberty. But when republicans are able to make themselves even more rich with government bailouts, buying weapons, and using our military to steal oil, then 'government' is just fine.

Please Minnesota - for the sake of this great state of ours - DO NOT VOTE FOR THIS WOMAN! How can you have her represent you and your children? Let's have the hope and change necessary to rebuild this country. To do so - it requires us to get rid of people like Ms. Bachmann who thinks she is better and more American than others.

The oddest thing about this Bachmann ad is the fuzzy, Mommy-loves-you tone of it. Is this a serious political ad or an invitation to try some new personal hygiene product or is it a prayer site? Her inflections are so carefully intimate, so caressing and personal, you wonder about her intentions towards you. It's uncomfortable to watch the ad with other people in the room. Laughter helps.

Have you ever trusted someone who talked to you this way? Is it the break-up tenderness? Or is it the tone of the kind mortician? I think she is using the oh-so-kind voice of the caring professions but her policies are all about protecting large companies and leaving individuals unprotected. Whether it's healthcare protection or legal protection or freedom from government spying, her only solution is prayer. But not just any kind of prayer. Her prayer, her church, her kind of people, her specific belief-system taught at the Church of God-Will-Make-You-Rich.
Faced with overwhelming condemnation and the NRCC basically dumping her campaign after her appearance on Hardball where she suggested that Barack Obama was anti-American and that the press should do an expose to see whether Democrats hold pro- or anti-America attitude, Bachmann taped what was billed as an "apology" ad. The resulting ad? Not so much of an apology. I don't always get my words right, but I know my heart is right...Meh. That's not an apology as far as I'm concerned. Further, it doesn't square with her own reaction to the blowback from her appearance. First, she claimed she never said it. But she then did a 180 and re-asserted Obama’s views were anti-American. Then, after her Democratic rival Elwyn Tinklenberg raised $1.4 million from Americans disgusted by her neo-McCarthyism, she tried to fundraise off her outrage at Matthews and liberal blogs for twisting her words. And then this...it doesn't come close to actually apologizing. Clearly, she didn't want to repeat what she said, but polls are showing a significant slippage in her approval: Nearly four of 10 likely voters in the Sixth Congressional District say they are less likely to support Rep. Michele Bachmann because of her comments about Barack Obama and Congress.[..]Overall, the poll found that voters favored Tinklenberg over Bachmann 45 percent to 43 percent, with 5 percent supporting Independence Party candidate Bob Anderson. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.7 percentage points.Does she honestly think this will help? *snort* Of course, it won't stop the NRCC from raising money off Bachmann, even as they've cast her out.

original description

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has gone into damage-control mode, rolling out a new ad in which she subtly acknowledges that the controversy surrounding her McCarthyist rantings about Barack Obama, which have put her narrowly behind conservative Democrat El Tinklenberg in the polls in this Republican-leaning district: "I may not always get my words right, but I know that my heart is right," Bachmann says. "Because my heart is for you, for your children, and for the blessings of liberty to remain for our great country." Make no mistake -- Bachmann could still win this thing, as she has the luxury of running in a district that voted 57%-42% for George W. Bush in 2004. The key indication of this ad is that she's realized there is a serious problem here, and may stop some of her public buffoonery and focus on patching things up with offended constituents.
