Opinion: I dont really think it's fair to take the money I work myself to death to earn, I'm not one of those people that gets money for doing nothing. I don't think it's fair if he decides to raise the income tax to more than 50% because then my family and I would be suffering. It's not only me im worrying about. But if I work ten times more than a person that makes less than me and he ends up making the same amount of money because his income taxes arent as high, that would not be fair to me.

Wow Obama- don't you get it? Sharing your toys and PBJ makes you generous! However.......... if you MAKE everyone at your lunch table share their PBJ, that makes you SOCIALIST!!!!! If a hungry person comes to my door I will CHOOSE to share my food with him or her, and help in whatever way I can to give them the boost to PROVIDE FOR HIM or HERSELF!!!!! Not just feed him or her indefinitely to make him or her lazy!!!!!!! Haven't you ever heard- "If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day; if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime." I would be more than happy to teach fishing!!!!!! I work 70+ hours a week, and if that person has drive and desire, like me, he or she will learn the fishing, fish 70+hours per week like me, and PROSPER!!!!!!! Not stand there with outstretched hand to wait for my hard earnings to flow into that hand!!!!! Get a clue please!

Reagan reduced the tax rate down to 28% from the 50% he had inherited. The biggest problem for this country is the corporate tax rate...second highest in the world. If this keeps up....Corporations will move their operations overseas (already beginning to happen).

But remember folks...the President doesn't make the laws...Congress does. The President can only approve or veto.

Alan, you're the one who misses the point. If Obama is a socialist for rolling back the Bush tax cuts, is Ronald Reagan a socialist? The top tax rate back then was 50%!

Judged in that context McCain's socialist rhetoric no longer has any meaning, if both Obama and Reagan are socialists. It's just as silly as calling him a communist for sharing his toys or his PBJ.

Obama misses the point. When he was a kid HE decided to share his peanut butter sandwiches and his toys. That is noble. That is generous. But what if the school had MANDATED that he share his food and his toys? That would be different. That would be socialism.

What if Obama had said, 'When I was a kid, I shared Joe the Plumber's peanut butter sandwiches and toys with the other kids in school?' That is VASTLY DIFFERENT.

A story I heard from a friend in Europe -

It is not the sharing thing. Sharing is good. It is the control thing. Who controls your 'goodness'? You or the state?

In Raleigh just now, Barack Obama went beyond the prepared remarks in pushing back on McCain's "socialist" attacks, ad-libbing about the shadowy Marxist and redistributionist leanings he's secretly harbored since kindergarten: "By the end of the week, he'll be accusing me of being a secret communist because I shared my toys in kindergarten," Obama said, as per the prepared remarks. Then he added: "I shared my -- I shared my peanut butter and jelly sandwich."It's a nifty way of highlighting, in a roundabout way, the McCain-Palin attacks in all their utter childishness.
