Well, after being attacked by someone who sounded like a John Bircher, I decided that perhaps I would be better off being less open about who I am. Admittedly, the attacker, who claimed that Joseph McCarthy was right and that half of the government was on the payroll of the Soviets, did push my buttons. No purpose was served by the discussion. It was mildly amusing to me, but probably not to anyone else. If I have political commentary I guess I'll just have to create a different blog for that purpose. I shared it here because my political perspective has been shaped by my faith, so I thought it was relevant. Plus, I care very deeply about the issues involved and, despite what the attacker may believe, I do love my country very much. I erased the posts with the comments from the attacker, but in his last comments he insisted that I change the name of this blog so that it had no reference to God because there was nothing godly about me. He's entitled to his opinion. I will not be changing the name of this blog. *sigh* whatever.
