Pauline Blais, 88, walked into the senior center Tuesday morning with a cane at her side, but she left it against a table to stand in the middle of the floor and bowl some spares on a giant computer console.
She's one of the biggest fans of the interactive computer game system, Wii, which the Lakeville Council on Aging purchased with funds from a $92,000 state grant less than a month ago.
Blais said she likes not only bowling, but all kinds of sports.
"I like to golf," Blais said. "I like that it gets you moving. I like the exercise. And I just like coming out and being with people."
After scoring two spares in a row, she added with a laugh, "And it makes me look good. It's good for the mind too. You have to have to know to hit just the right button."
In February, she said she fell and fractured her pelvis, which sent her to a nursing home, then occupational and physical therapy. "I think that if I had not played golf, I would not have survived that fall," she said.
