The reason this bill against Gay peoples rights got passed was because of the old people that came out to vote on election day, statistics show. As Keith pointed out, two generations back black people couldn't marry!! Obviously a lot has changed as to what is acceptable in our society and many old people have not changed with it unfortunately.

So you think no one should speak their views just because the latest vote says 'this is the way it is'. How can you compare the choosing of a president to the right to marry the person you love? Which one affects you more directly? Maybe you have that right, then good for you.

It strange that you have a problem with him saying what he feels is right. The point and the strength of Democracy is that opinions are always shifting and evolving. If no one ever changed their mind about anything we'd be burning scientists at the stake like witches.

realist, I can only assume that given your closing comment that you must be heterosexual because while this might seem incredibly insignificant to you, it is incredibly significant to me and my partner of 7 years. This vote has a direct effect on my life and the life of my friends, as a gay man, as someone who was born and raised in California, and as a New Yorker who hopes one day that his relationship will be viewed as equally as any relationship you have. It is incredibly important to me and I can and will not move on.
