Renowned as the “Sun Queen” of America, Dr. Mária Telkes was a chemical engineer and inventor with roots in Hungary. Before migrating to the United States, she honed her skills as a chemist. Her life’s work revolved around pushing the boundaries in the realm of solar technology. At age 63 in 1964, the industrious Telkes continued her pursuit of innovation, around the time she was recognized with an invitation to present at an event.
