date: 11.15.8 event: san diego civil rights march II - 25,000 music: delerium featuring sarah mclachlan - 3 versions mixed creator/director: evanoah sea
as i was filming, about a mile into downtown through the lens i saw a number of people step out of formation, cross the road and turn to look back up the length of sixth avenue. in slow motion faces went blank, lips began mouthing the words "oh my god" while many eyes filled with tears. their expressions were almost tragic... and concerned, i turned to look back as well... and what an amazing, yet bittersweet moment to witness thousands marching strong. and throughout the day, underneath it all... under our skin we were beholden to the silence.
