I found out years ago that Chaka sang the song. It sounded like her to me so I looked it up. But on to something more hurtful, I can't believe that Reading Rainbow is GONE after 26 years!! I am 29 years old and I grew up on this show. Even as a teenager and now in my late 20's I still watched it as I baby sat. What the heck will my kids watch in the future? I'm seriously going to have to get all of the episodes on DVD.

I used to love this show. I was surprised to recently find out that it was Chaka Khan who sang the opening theme song for Reading Rainbow. Ah, it brings back childhood memories in Brooklyn.
