I have to say that I would certainly be on board for the casting of these two in the leads, but I think that this piece in the Advocate has the roles reversed.Certainly Johnson is perfect for Patsy Stone, but read this from the article: Casting is not officially complete, but late last week Kristen Johnston (3rd Rock From the Sun) participated in a table-read of the script, according to Variety. Recent appearances for Johnston include a role in the film Bride Wars as well as guest spots on Sex and the City and ER. Also participating in the table-read was actress Kathryn Hahn (Revolutionary Road). If Johnston and Hahn are cast in the pilot, they will play the roles of overindulging, fame- and fashion-obsessed Edina and Patsy, respectively. What I do know about the pilot is that the script by Christine Zander is that it has Eddie working with celebrity chefs, and those who have read it say it's a solid episode with a lot of laughs.I just don't see Kristen Johnson as Edina Monsoon. And I so so so easily see Hahn (they are both pictured above) as Eddie. Now's the time in the post that I have to admit to seeing Bride Wars (with Johnson) over last weekend. I know, it sucked. In fact, it is one of the most predictable comedies I have ever seen and it's a waste of everyone's talent. I did enjoy all that looking at Bryan Greenberg (and the veins that run down his biceps) but other than that it was ... well, let me put it this way. I needed a comedy and the choices where this or Paul Blart, Mall Cop, and the line of kids to see that movie looked like an uprising at Gymboree.The reason I bring up this embarassing personal fact is that Johnson plays an annoying, cloying, drinking, statuesque type who never wants to work.That's Patsy Stone.
