Today is day one of 2009, and last night just after midnight I found myself in bed surprised by the presence of God. A sudden Holy Spirit driven urgency landed in my inner man, and I prayed. With fire.I’m 39 years old, and I don’t have much time left. I remember being 30 years old as I was planting Revolution Church- and nearly a decade has disappeared since then. I’m running out of time- and so are you.There is a world to change, revivals to launch and a church to reform, and I possibly may have less than a few more decades to do my part. The foundational work necessary to see this extreme degree of revolution come to pass can take that long in itself. We cannot allow ourselves to jockey for position as we climb our own ladders of success as the months and years vaporize. I then move from simple petition to the real work of intercession- authoritative declaration.If we are going to see a burning revival, we must understand the great limitations that petition alone will create. Generally speaking, we aren’t to ask God for something when we already know God’s heart on the matter.
