The YouTube community has voted, the panel of journalists from the Pulitzer Center have carefully reviewed the final submissions, and the recipient of the grand prize has finally been chosen after four months of hard work. Today, we're happy to announce the winner of Project: Report, YouTube's first ever journalism contest (produced in partnership with the Pulitzer Center and made possible by Sony VAIO & Intel), which is designed to encourage aspiring reporters to relate important stories that often slip through the news net. Arturo Perez, Jr. from San Francisco, CA, produced three pieces to win the grand prize: a $10,000 fellowship to work with the Pulitzer Center on an international reporting project. Arturo's winning video entry for the third and final round, "Abilities," shows us an insider's view of Camphill California, a community of adults with developmental disabilities that live and work together. Arturo gave this group of individuals their own video camera, which they used to document their story and share it with others. We encourage you to watch of all of the Project: Report final submissions on the Project: Report channel. While Project: Report 2008 has now concluded, we still hope to see stories that you think the world should know about here on YouTube. Feel free to email citizennews@youtube.com if you have a story to tell, or if you see something particularly newsworthy that you think we should know about. Congratulations to Art! Happy reporting, Olivia M. YouTube News & Politics
