He doesn't say "eye" he says he says "heart", which is in the poem. He is saying that the speech of the raven is an emotional pain to him.

This episode was so cute! I'm reading this poem for school and its really hard to understand because of the vocabulary Mr. Poe uses so, I didn't get the end of the story. Does the main character die? What happens? I got lost at the end. It would be great if somebody could explain it better. Thanks for the great video! xD

I love this version but they added some lines and took some away. When he say
"Take thy beak from out my eye,
and take thy form from off my door!"
This is not in the really poem. They skip almost 4 stanzas in this version too!!!

But I love how they show his other stories like 'The Tell Tale Heart'.

Those that know me know I'm a nerd and can recite all 18 stanzas of The Raven by heart... I'm sooo in love with Mr. Poe and I think he's such a beautiful writer. I figured I'd share with you one of my fav Simpson episodes that references the amazingness that is this poem... So enjoy :)

Halloween är egentligen en ganska så onödig helgedag men den är faktiskt en av mina favoritdagar på året. Alla upplysta pumpor och utklädda barn/vuxna. Den har mys-faktorn och stämningen som Jul ofta misslyckas med (förmodligen i och med prestationsångesten).En gång i tiden kunde jag Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven utantill. Hittade en gammal Poe samling när jag var på kollo och bestämde mig för att läsa den i sängen medan alla andra sov. Låg där under de tunna täcket med bara en ficklampa som ljuskälla och slukade ord för ord. Intressant hur man egentligen borde veta bättre och sluta när man börjar bli skrämd. Ändå fortsätter man... Idag vill jag också vara Vincent Price.
