1989 and Greenhouse Effect expand their psychedelic garage rock sound into something that almost sounds like Rush. Phil Keegan's guitar leads the way as usual and Clark Hagins drumming is quite snappy but it would be Hagins' lead vocals that would up the anty and raise the bar, making G.e. suddenly one of Los Angeles' best trios. Bassist Rick Carmody keeps a 'dorian' styled bassline to mesh well with Keegan. Live, G.e. pulled off a tight set that was unmatched as they played their weird sounding songs almost exactly as recorded in the studio - only much louder and with more power !! The "Four Song E.p." in March of 1989 would mark a drastic change in G.e. as they hit with the mega-song "Six Feet under" today a gigantic hit on the internet, as penned and virtually entirely performed alone by Keegan. "Dr. Phil" today performs with Northern California rockers 'Rough Puppy'.
