In the Twitter version of TED.com talks, at 8 minutes instead of 20, co-founder Evan Williams gives us some ideas of innovative uses of Twitter rather than just the mostly stupid crap we find (and also likely post) on it. That "we" includes "me", btw. He also gives a good lesson on how to approach inventing, investing or trying to control technology, in not trying to predict what it will be used for or what it will become. Let it be and see.
In the year leading up to this talk, the web tool Twitter exploded in size (up 10x during 2008 alone). Co-founder Evan Williams reveals that many of the ideas driving that growth came from unexpected uses invented by the users themselves.
