Kanye West has always maintained a bittersweet relationship with my taste. I love the fact that he reps his hometown, Chicago. I loved his 1st and 3rd albums (lyrcially). I think he's a musical genius in his production and pushes music forward. I was never fond of his attitude, his arrogance, and how he sometimes refers to himself in third person. For a quick minute I thought that he had let the fame and money get to his head. But after watching these two clips from Vh1's storytellers, Kanye is slowly treading back to my respectable side, although sometimes I still think that he's quite overrated - the new hypebeast product. Vh1 storytellers is a series where musicians perform and add breakdowns or two cents about their songs and experiences. In these two performance clips, Flashing Lights and Touch the Sky, Kanye expresses that he is in fact human trying to survive under the microscope, and recognizes and embraces his tribulations and hardships for the successful life he's living today.
