So, this week (monday) Jimmy Fallon took the place of Conan O'Brien on NBC's "Late Night with..." Conan has been doing "Late Night with Conan O'Brien"since 1993. Now Jimmy fallon takes over, and last night was his first show. I'm not sure how i feel about it so far. I was sooooo pumped for his show and to see what he'd bring. But I watched about half of the 1st episode online and I i just found it to be awkward, but I dont know if I found it awkward enough to never watch it or if I really understand that it was his first show and must have been REALLY nervous.

The monologue wasn't too bad but if you see the his "interview" with Robert DeNiro it was just odd. he handled if very oddly. It seemed too scripted and just didn't really work with DeNiro's odd, subtle, under the radar wit personality. It just didn't work for me.

Now I hope this isn't taken as a hit to jimmy. Really it's not. I really have a lot of respect for him, But this was it. this was THE show. opening night! and for me he just didnt show his best of the best. maybe I was expecting the off beat and somewhat racy (??) comments and humor. and he might be trying to pull himself away from that. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens. hopefully I'll get a chance to stay up and watch it one of these days.
