This is a great example of the importance of citizen journalism. While we often take the freedom of press for granted in the United States, people in other parts of the world do not always enjoy the same freedoms. Fortunately, citizen journalism allows people to inform the rest of the world of what is going on in their region. If it were not for such brave citizens, many of the important events of the world, positive or negative, would go largely unnoticed.
