Coronation Street (ITV1, 7.30/8.30pm) If you’re getting tired of Ken and Martha’s tawdry love affair, there’s something a bit more sedate and, we think, much more romantic in the offing tonight. It’s nearly a year since Jack was made a widower, leaving him with only his beloved pigeons for company. One of his feathered friends has failed to return home but luckily he gets a call from Connie (Rita May) who has found the wayward flier. When she returns the bird, the two of them get along well - and it turns out that Connie is a pigeon fancier too! If that’s not killing two birds with one stone, we don’t know what is. You may recognise actress Rita May from her superb turn as Jean in the BBC comedy Early Doors. Here’s a couple of wonderful clips…ShareThis
