Was an early summer-ish night last night here in NE Ohio. A couple weeks before college finals, and some on campus feel the need to drink twice as much, get even more dumb-assed, and make the local news. Not only that, but for some reason every numb-nut anarchist-leaning student that goes to KSU since that miss-reported event way back in the anti-war, “Weather Underground”, SDS bullshit era (some of whom are either in government office, best buds of those in office, or in the teaching arena … or all of the above) believes they now have to make their smudge on KSU history by trying to incite the next anti-authority riot … And this “anniversary” is just around the corner, so I imagine this incident last night by the drunks, jerks and skanks will fuel whatever commemorative protest might be in the works … My middle daughter is a third year senior at Kent State University in pre-med. She is currently studying not only for finals coming up in a couple weeks, but for her MCAT exam this week (entrance exam for medical school). While out last night for dinner and a break she and her boyfriend drove past this bullshit (which isn’t really uncommon for NE Ohio college campuses this time of year as the school year winds down): “Yeah, we were coming up the road and could see like 20 foot flames and all this smoke … We thought one of the fraternity houses was on fire … when we came up on the road we could see the crowds … The fire was as wide as the street and the flames were so high. They were throwing mattresses, couches and were taking doors and things off buildings and throwing it all in the fire … When the police began stepping in the crowd turned ugly and started chanting crap about the cops … It was one of the creepiest things I’ve ever seen … Was like it was out of the 1960s protest stuff … What idiots. As IF they have anything to be pissed about … Their guy is “President” and we’re going “Marxist” … they should be hap
