Uhhhhhhhhh, no this is a typical Republicab propaganda vid to scare the public. The military, local and federal law enforcement agencies are doing the exact same job as under the Bush administration. This is non-sense. "Oh my God, we're doomed, he shook hands with Chavez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The GOP needs to grow up. That's why they lost so many seats last time. So 2004.
WaPo: Biden In Charge Of Search For SCOTUS Nominee The Washington Post reports that Vice President Biden has been tasked with with drawing up a list of potential Supreme Court nominees to replace Justice David Souter, whose retirement has not yet been officially announced but is widely reported to be a settled issue. The next term begins in October.Obama's Day Ahead President Obama will be meeting with his cabinet at 11:15 a.m. ET. He never liked Washington, and this past March described his life as a justice as follows: "When the term of court starts I undergo a sort of annual intellectual lobotomy and it lasts until the following summer when I sort of cram what I can into the summertime."Senate Defeats Cram-Down Bill The Senate last night defeated a proposal to give bankrupt...
AP ( Washington): A congressionally backed panel said Friday that religious freedoms were deteriorating in Russia, Turkey and four other nations that were added to a watch list of countries where people’s rights to worship as they please or not to worship at all are at risk…Besides Russia and NATO-member Turkey, the commission added to the watch list Laos, Somalia, Tajikistan and Venezuela. They joined Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba and Egypt, already on the list.Countries are placed on the watch list or the more serious “countries of particular concern” list because their governments either discriminate against people for religious reasons or are unwilling or unable to stop religious violence by their citizens. The commission used the report to ask the Obama administration at least to “give due consideration” whether to abide by a law that requires the ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom be a “principal adviser to the president and the secretary of state regarding matters affecting religious freedom.”So, Do You Feel Safer?
The GOP is continuing with the fear-mongering. It seems that can’t get any voters based on the issues at hand, nor by using any facts or figures. It’s much better, it seems, to use climactic music, and pictures of Muslims burning the U.S. flag. Do you feel safer since Obama took office. I sure as hell do! Bush scared the begeejesus out of me. Anyone saying that god spoke them, scares the hell out of me.Stay tuned for the next 100 day installment from the GOP, “OK, But Are You Really Sure That You Feel Safer?”Posted in Home, Left News Tagged: 100 days, advertisement, Boehner, bush, christian, conservative, Democrats, god, GOP, jihad, liberal, muslim, Obama, patriot, politics, progressive, religion, republicans, video
House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio and Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., released a video Thursday that details the Obama administration’s frightening lack of a comprehensive strategy to confront and fight the terrorist threat.
Bookmark or ShareMy question to that answer is yes! The ad addresses the release of memos, stopping torture techniques like waterboarding, and closing Guantanamo Bay. I tend to take the middle ground when it comes to Guantanamo and really had no position on whether or not documents should be released. One thing I do know is that torture is wrong and waterboarding is torture. The reason we are safer is because the republican position on this has reduced America’s standing in the world and given sympathy to terrorist organizations that used the Bush policies as a recruitment tool. Closing Gitmo and ended torture takes power away from the extremist that want to strike resentment in the eyes of the others. As far as the memos are concerned, I have complete faith that in accordance with military officials that information in those memos won’t hurt the U.S. This ad is definitely fear mongering. Scary music, showing text from memos in stop-motion like fashion, CIA director on FOX NEWS, and showing images of terrorist…yeah, that’s fear mongering. Here’s the latest ad put up my congressman John Boehner, “Do you feel safer?”,Do you feel safer or scared? We’ve seen these fear mongering ads during the election, so most of us are probably used to seeing this kind of fear mongering coming from the GOP. I wished government competency was also addressed in the ad. Having a competent administration also makes me feel safe.
