The Great Song "Star" came out during a difficult, tumoltuous time for Greenhouse Effect and the 1990/91' era 'Going Legit' album compact disc. "Phil Keegan had recently left the band and it was weird and uneasy" says Clark Higgins "the band was down to just a two piece with just me and Carmody and we were undertaking like this huge recording all by ourselves of like 48 songs or what-ever where he just played bass and i played virtually everything else,(Note here; and the process of us finding a great drummer was quite a task but yet we did - we went through like four of them !! (Laughs),.....it must have been a bit like Genesis when Steve Hackett left (Laughs),...I was trying to fill the shoes of one of alternative rock's greatest guitarists in Keegan,..I mean we are talking about the guy who wrote "Waiting for your love to fail!" here,...there was alot on my plate needless to say,....even when we talk on the phone today,..there is alot of tension,...we both know that alot of people out there are watching our music now all over the net - and all over the world,...and they don't download it for nothing,..hell yes,..I more than acknowledge how great he is on guitar,..up there in San Jose, the guy is a damned legend,...they worshop that guy in the Bay area now,.but just like me - he'll always be South Bay (as in Torrance) at heart -..I ain't gonna touch or piss on that!! His importance to rock music is solidified,....but so is mine I hope !! For me,..finally getting alot of respect and admiration for all my songs has been a nightmare what with my family n all,..working against me,...but the net is the great equalizer,...I don't care if everybody hates my guts so long as they download me in India and Pakistan ! As many people who know about Pennywise,..they finally know about G.e. now - Thank God almighty ! We've earned it,...'cause we're 'that' good !!
