How dumb are the right wing bloggers and pundits? I don't have enough time to tell you, but this latest crazed outburst of supposed "media bias" over the treatment of George W. Bush is proof enough that they are suffering a deep and dark depression.

What elephant in the room?
What bias in the media?
Andrew Bolt.TonyfromOz prefaces …..Watch closely. The first few seconds show George Bush entering the room while all the media people remain seated, and the second is entirely different. This may not amount to much you might think, but things like this are decided by protocol. Out of respect, the media usually always stand whenever the President enters the room. Having said that, minders would have discussed this protocol with the President to see how he wanted to treat the situation. It seems that President Bush obviously was more relaxed about the situation and probably mentioned to those minders when they brought the matter up that he wasn’t fussed one way or the other, and perhaps preferred the more informal approach. It seems President Obama prefers not to take a similar attitude, which is more of a pointer to his character when compared to Bush’s character on the same matter. Even though this ‘may’ show the attitude of the media, it is more a pointer to the man himself, because this is most definitely a matter of protocol, and it would be a requirement relayed to all members of the media that they stand when the President enters the room. It would seem that Bush relayed the message that they can remain seated, while when the same thing was mentioned to Obama, his thinking is to have them stand. This is a conscious decision on his part because believe me, this is something he would have been asked about, something decided by the President, not by those attending media persons. Are reporters more deferential to President Obama than they were to President Bush? Stand up, those who think “yes”.Andrew Bolt is a journalist and columnist writing for The Herald Sun in Melbourne Victoria Australia.Read more excellent articles from Andrew Bolt’s BlogPosted in 111th Congress, America (USA), Barry Soetoro (aka Barack Hussein Obama), Media, Politically Correct, Politics Tagged: Andrew Bolt, President George W. The following video demonstrates in a fairly clear manner the White House press corps disrespect of the office of President of the United States. Their respect for the office is dependent upon the policies of the occupant of the White House and their (the press corps) agreement of disagreement with those policies.

Perhaps saying that their respect is dependent upon policy is giving the press corps too much credit. It may simply be dependent upon which political party the President belongs too.
