Notice there are NO women in the video! Paternalistic religions like christianity and islam are abusive at best toward women. Who is to say which religion is going to abuse women less? Secondly, do we have these proselytizing rules when our troops are stationed in Germany or Japan? Why do we continue to let islam run over the laws we have set about freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and yes equality for all - that includes women!

There are women throughout the entire time even in the very beginning. The first part of the footage shows a female soldier with her legs crossed in the far right.
US soldiers in Afghanistan have been filmed with local language Bibles and urged to be “witnesses for Jesus” despite anti-proselytising rules. Al Jazeera’s James Bays reports. Posted in conspiracy theories, Crime, Debate, hall of shame, Military, notorious, Politics, Religion
Posted in Uncategorized

Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee. 13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali.
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him. 21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

8 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
---------------- They're not trying to kill anyone, offend or upset, just offering them a history book full of quotations from eyewitnesses. I'm sure the local people have the ability to make up their own minds about what to believe. The west loves to patronise.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
Simple as. It's a mission born out of love, not militaresque world dominance.
Why does Reuters NOT capitalize the “B” in Bibles in this story? It IS the direct use of the book title, not a generalized usage of a word (The golfer’s bible …) … However, whenever the Koran is used by Reuters they ALWAYS capitalize the “K”???Reuters:U.S. military says Afghan bibles have been destroyedKABUL (Reuters) – Bibles in Afghan languages sent to a U.S. soldier at a base in Afghanistan were confiscated and destroyed to ensure that troops did not breach regulations which forbid proselytizing, a military spokeswoman said. The U.S. military has denied its soldiers tried to convert Afghans to Christianity, after Qatar-based Al Jazeera television showed soldiers at a bible class on a base with a stack of bibles translated into the local Pashto and Dari languages.U.S. Central Command’s General Order Number 1 forbids troops on active duty — including all those based in Iraq and Afghanistan — from trying to convert people to another religion.“I can now confirm that the Bibles shown on Al Jazeera’s clip were, in fact, collected by the chaplains and later destroyed. They were never distributed,” spokeswoman Major Jennifer Willis said at Bagram air base, north of Kabul.Military officials have said the bibles were sent through private mail to an evangelical Christian soldier by his church back home. The soldier brought them to the bible study class where they were filmed.Trying to convert Muslims to another faith is a crime in Afghanistan. An Afghan man who converted to Christianity was sentenced to death for apostasy in 2006 but was allowed to leave the country after an international uproar.“It certainly is, from the United States military’s perspective, not our position to ever push any specific kind of religion, period,” chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen told a Pentagon briefing Monday. And why is religious deference ALWAYS afforded to Muslims and Islam, and not to any other religion … either in the Muslim culture, or in the news media?Does an
US soldiers have been encouraged to spread the message of their Christian faith among Afghanistan’s predominantly Muslim population, video footage obtained by Al Jazeera appears to show. Military chaplains stationed in the US air base at Bagram were also filmed with bibles printed in the country’s main Pashto and Dari languages.
