On May 1, 2009, two rallies for immigration reform took place in New York City. This video depicts scenes from the Madison Square Park rally and the march across downtown Manhattan. The Madison Square Park rally began at 1:30 p.m. with diverse speakers and a text messaging campaign. Despite the pouring rain, hundreds of immigrant rights supporters started marching at 6 p.m. to City Hall, flaunting flags and chanting, calling for immigration reform.
