Senator Mac Harb is one of the only Canadian Senators who has ever actually gone out onto the ice floes and witnessed the actual hunt and seen it for himself, including the sealers, the vessels, the conduct, the implements involved, and all the practices involved in the seal hunt.

Nearly all of the other Senators have no information about the hunt, have never even seen it, have false or misleading information about it, fed to them by either the DFO or other senators from sealing provinces that feed them biased information because they are stakeholders in it and are willing to twist anything in order to paint the picture of what they want. The officials that have never even seen the hunt and have false info include Senator Tommy Banks who admits he knows nothing about it, yet goes and votes on it affecting the stature of the entire nation, and Gail Shea DFO Minister of Fisheries, head of the seal hunt who spends millions of taxpayer dollars on it, and then admits she has never even witnessed the hunt. At all.
