Shortly before Valentine’s Day, a series of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) erupted from the sun, hurtling towards Earth. These solar events made impact midday on Saturday, February 15th. Anticipating the occurrence of a geomagnetic storm, which was predicted by Space weather.com, we embarked on a journey to Iceland. What we witnessed was a mesmerizing celestial display, a fraction of which is captured in this photograph—a view of the night sky illuminated by the ethereal dance of the aurora borealis, showcasing hues of green against the backdrop of a star-studded dark expanse.
