From the Huffington Post and the Rachel Maddow Show, an article and interview with Lieutenant Colonel Victor J. Fehrenbach, a fighter weapons systems officer who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, teaches other pilots and has won a medal for heroism. He is being fired for being gay. In the video below, he tells Rachel Maddow how he won his medal, at the 7:29 of the video. Turns out, he wiped out the Iraqi defenses at the Baghdad airport, while being fired upon at least 8 times by surface to air missiles, in advance of the closely approaching US infantry. In all likelihood Lt. Colonel Fehrenbach was responsible for saving American lives at the risk of his own. And we are firing him.
