Hi, if you are not aware please go to desiringgod.org to check out his theological stand. whatever that you are saying is completely untrue. the way you highlight certain portions of his book without context is the same as selective reading for the sake of criticism. Please do a thorough check if you want to write something against someone.
I'm sorry I find your critique really lame. Read the books all the way through. Your conclusions say more about you wanting to cause a division than about what Piper actually says. Having read most of his books and listened to many of his sermons; I conclude he is a strong reformational theologian resting upon the grace of God.
wow, that was the lamest attempt to knock down a godly man i've seen in a while. have you even read the bible? Romans? James? 1 Corinthians? or did those pages fall out of your bible? active faith in God as evidenced by the life of a man has ALWAYS been at the forefront of God's plan for his people - from Genesis to Revelation. if you want to educate people, preach and teach, bible in hand. if you want to shoot down an alleged "heretic," you've got to have some better ammo than this.
The body of Pastor John's work SCREAMS against what you have just stated. His teaching is merely the best attempts by a fallen man to present the Holy Scriptures well. Piper's theology is GROUNDED in the sovereignty of God and the depravity of man. He holds to the teachings of Calvin - meaning Salvation is a work of God from first to last. This message permeates the Scriptures AND Piper's preaching.
Please examine his body of work more closely if you wish to criticize.
