I feel jay-z is out of pocket while on the one hand i agree with hov on how wack rappers might be using it as a crutch. I feel alot of rappers use sampling as a crutch.he has a right to his opinon but i think saying death to something while his wife uses autotune is hypocracy and it's hating. i was waiting to hear hov with it on his voice. i been rhyming 20 yrs i think it can be abused but let the market decide
what keep hip-hop is piracy and cheap people not bying music.
social networking sites allowing people to hear high quality songs free
lack of sufficient encryption to protect intellectual property is killing not just hip-hop
but the music industry period
i think we need to focus on what people are saying and not on whether they have harmonic effects on it
harmonics makes the world tune in it helps artist that can't rap about their lives of crime
capture another aspect of the market.
if we follow jay-z's logic
death to the samples especially the chipmunk samples
death to the equilizer so evry body has to have bass in their voice
death to the compressor so every body has to yell to be heard
death to the microphone
death to airbrushed photographs
death to cgi so no matrix no transformers because that's not real
death to all computer augmentation of human ability
it entertainments let the market decide if a artist is abusing it people won't buy it.
i'm a no 1 jay-z fan but i diagree with him
you'd have to get rid of half the music industry if you take out autotune
the same people that agree with jay-z 1. don't buy records
2. didn't like him when he first came out. i like the rhyme though i gotta admit it was funny and well wriitten but i think the chorus should be a passing thought in a verse not a focal point. He sounds out of touch and like he's complaining.
imagine the song cry with out the sample
hard knock life without the sample if you song is wack it's wack bottom line.
