my mom always said Michael Jackson was one of the best dancers ever. I read int he past couple of weeks, that michael Jackson liked the movies from that time period so it is no surprse that he brought the talent into our generation and added his own special flair to it.

As you can see, the steps and the dance goes back decades. I remember as a child in the mid-60's the young boys and men throughout the neighborhood doing this dance. It was known then as the camel walk.
The dance blew up on a global scale after the Jackson Five became famous.
Once the world recognized it and connected with Michael Jackson, the name was changed to the Moonwalk.

Bei genauer Betrachtung fällt einem die unverkennbare Ähnlichkeit mit den Tanzschritten von Michael Jackson auf. Man merkt wie MJ die Schritte die auch zu seinem Musikstiel passten übernahm und an seinen Stiel anpasste. Auch der Moonwalk ist wieder zu finden, überzeugt euch selbst!

If you watch closely, you can see where his inspiration lies throughout the history of tap, jazz and even big band. These videos were taken mostly from 1929-1955.
