The time for animal lovers to disavow PETA. The acronym, of course, stands for "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals," but that name is hardly accurate. Not when it's definition of "animal" includes a fly, and not when it considers the routine swatting of such a germ-carrying pest unethical. That's insanity. Pure and simple. In case you haven't heard, President Obama rather deftly carried out the summary execution of a fly the other day. PETA has condemned the act. It's leaders want to send him some kind of contraption to capture flies and release them unharmed in the future. These people are morons, of course. But if only it were so simple to dismiss them as such. They are morons with a cause, and that makes them dangerous. Look, everybody loves animals -- an understandable sentiment that PETA leaders have manipulated for years. They've even suckered celebrities like Alicia Silverstone, Eva Mendes, and Charlize Theron to pose -- sometimes naked -- in their ads. That's when they're not busy tossing blood on anybody they see in a fur coat or trashing a research lab. The naked picture of Alicia Silverstone is actually quite nice. But that's beside the point. The fact is, this is an extremist cult -- and often a malicious one. Those of you who are normal, and want to do something to make sure that real animals do not suffer unnecessarily, seriously need to come up with Plan B. Because PETA is not the answer. Just as our country is asking good Muslims to condemn the extreme elements who commit terrorist acts in the name of Islam, we need to start pointing a finger at PETA and telling the world that these are dangerous nuts. In the meantime, enjoy this hilarious video:
Alisa Mullins at their blog: Believe it or not, we've actually been contacted by multiple media outlets wanting to know PETA's official response to the executive insect execution. In a...
