Any day a buffoon voluntarily removes herself from power is a good day. My hope is that she lives a nice quiet life and doesn't bother anyone--maybe get a horse and live up in the mountains, as Don Rickles says. I don't think that's going to happen though.

The political commentators think it's suicide to remove yourself from office--that is, if you want to be president someday. One can only hope that she has decided against any presidential aspirations.

More likely, I think, she will end up as some kind of celebrity. FoxNews will give her her own program, like Oprah for provincial rubes that find the real Oprah too intellectually rigorous. I'm not joking: if I had to lay a bet, right now this minute, I'd say it's in the works. And we know she's got a multi-million dollar book contract to fulfill.

Well I for one hope she ends up with a talk show, maybe a Martha Stewart kind of angle, deer chili recipes and all that, whatever it takes to keep her out of civics. In the end, arrogant empty-heads like her and G.W. Bush are far less dangerous when outside civics, running baseball teams (into the ground), etc. Better to have Palin weilding the microphone of Rush Limbaugh than the gavel of Newt Gingrich, no?
