Hi everyone, we did this work. And everybody is right! Some of it is CGI to show what we are capable of and some of is real footage from live events. On our site www.projectiononbuildings.com you find more footage. The coming months you can see us live in Copenhagen, LA, Bahrian, Berlin, Leeds, Barcelona, Cannes and many more
Cool stuff is afoot, even if it's not real projection as people suggest. The temple reminds me of the end of music video to That Golden Rule by Biffy Clyro.
I think the material of the "temple" style building is fine - I buy that as very clever projection, and a han dheld camera very close to the projector position (the only place the illusion will work perfectly).
The material with the cathedral type building I don't buy. At the least, it has been tweaked as a post process. The sky, in particular, is the exact same shade of (strange looking) rosy pink near the horizon in every shot, and the flat horizontal movement looks wrong to me. Plus - I think that horizontal and radial flares have been added. They extend beyond the edges of the building into the open air, which is hard to understand. bad - move - they have spoiled the fun. They should've just stuck with the reality of the projection, not attempted to cheat it to look better than it already does.
