What is it with these people who are so arrogant to believe that civilised intelligence far beyond ours who would have mastered technologies allowing them to traverse the Galaxy & overcome Light Travel limitations and who’s social structure, philosophy & understanding must have advanced at a similar rate to their scientific advances would choose to behave & think in such a limited way to ours.

We humans have only recently discovered radio communication and emissions in the last centaury… so, we assume that any other intelligent life must also use radio to communicate, We can’t hear anyone using radio, therefore they can’t exist, right? That’s like a remote long forgotten jungle tribe concluding that “we haven’t seen any response from distant tribes to our smoke signals so we must be alone”.

Not that long ago when steam trains where invented the scientific thinking at the time concluded that if humans travelled more than 30 miles per hour they would die. Faster than light travel or an alternative to it is just a limitation we humans haven’t got around to figuring out yet.

The “Landing on the White House Lawn” theory assumes that Aliens think like us:
Let’s go and invade another culture, enslave them and take all their stuff.
Let’s go and visit another culture, say we come in peace offer them trinkets, give them all our diseases, corrupt their evolution so that over time they will see us as gods, stop thinking for themselves and come to rely on superstitions and religion for things they can’t yet understand.

Its more likely that Aliens, if they exist are just curiously watching us, perhaps even surreptitiously helping us from blowing ourselves up from time to time and waiting for us to grow up before formally introducing ourselves and allowing us to spread our own particular brand of democracy around the Galaxy.

An individual who is absolutely certain about something has certainly missed something along the way.
