This is the trailer for Amelia, which is a period piece on Amelia Earhart, directed by Mira Nair. Amelia is played by Hilary Swank who is one of my favorite actresses. I'm glad she's playing this role because Hilary really throws herself into the character and when you watch her act you kind of don't know where her role starts and her actual personality ends. She's just that good. I still cry like a wimp in Million Dollar Baby and P.S. I Love You. :) But anyways. ALSO, the cinematography here is gorgeous. Especially all of the aerials with the planes and man oh man do I looove period pieces. From the viewpoint of a Set Designer, period pieces always mean a little more than just your average filler comedy or drama set in present day. The amount of research and work that goes into these sets is unbelievable. And when it's done right? It transports you to a time you didn't exist and you gain so much insight to a world before you. So for that, I'm REALLY excited. Definitely go see this on October 23, 2009! :)
