Who do you think black women straight out of Africa saw straightening their hair first? Do you think black women brought straightening combs with them from Africa? If we do more to straighten our hair than some of them do, then so what! I for one am not happy about being made fun of, Chris, nor your telling Asian women to run from me because of my hair. My son wanted his hair to move like his white friends in 1st grade. He just had to learn a little bit about his "roots," and that was the end of that. Rather than a quest to find who put that question into your daughter's head, maybe you should have searched our own head to find out why you couldn't come up with a good answer.
