So here is the deal... The Beastie Boys were supposed to open for Jigga at his All Points West show on July 31, 2009. As per shallownation.com: Beastie Boys have canceled their tour and postponed their forthcoming album due to Adam “MCA” Yauch cancer diagnosis and treatment. As Billboard reports, the Jay-Z All Points West set-list of 28 songs opened with the Beastie Boys signature hit No Sleep Till Brooklyn, from their debut album, “Licensed to Ill” (1986) and he also dedicated his performance to Yauch, and paid tribute to the Beastie Boys and their legacy, calling them, “pioneers, one of the reasons I’m on this stage.” If you ask me, that dude Jay Z aka Papa Dios (to me and mine) has done it again with this Rap / Rock combo.
