I agree that there is nothing to be sorry - we should be proud...
we are indeed privilaged to be muslims and I do hope if this is truly micheal singing that Almihgty Allah has accepted his shahada and that he now lies in comfort in his barzakh until the day of judgement...
and on that day Allaah will be merciful and perhaps show him how his death came about..
As for the deniers of faith or religion - we really need not worry about them because Allah tells us in the Holy Quruan that every soul has a natural fitra which knows the existence of Almighty Allaah and they only decieve themselves when they try to cover it up..
