兩廳院的「世界之窗」自2003年起陸續向台灣觀眾開啟英、法、俄與德的藝文窗口，今年10月兩廳院延續與國際接軌的精神，規劃七檔充滿日本藝文能量的表演，包括以現代舞征服歐陸的兩個舞團，與融合傳統與現代的戲劇、音樂和視覺聲音劇場的表演團體，呼應總統馬英九宣佈的「2009台日關係促進年」，預計在台掀起日本狂潮。 就文化交流面向來看，日本的表演藝術在國際具有不容忽視的重要地位，兩廳院精選最具大和文化代表性的七檔表演，盧列如下：
