Father John Catoir, J.C.D., a Doctor of Cannon Law, of Chester, New Jersey, a former director of The Christophers, and author of many several spiritual books and tapes, was busy spreading his message of joy to the separated in divorced gathered at Notre Dame. He drew from a quote from the late Pope John Paul II, “Christ came to bring joy. . . . Joy is the central message of Christianity and the reacquiring motif of the Gospel. Go, therefore, and become the messenger of joy.” Audio was recorded at the 32nd Annual North American Conference of Separated and Divorced Catholics, the Catholic Divorced Ministry, June 30, 2006 at the University Notre Dame. The organization has been sanctioned by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops since 1974, helping addresses the many needs of the families with the burden of pains of separation and divorce.
