Okay VD and Twilight series really nothing alike if you read the books. They are kindof fing it up on the show making it seem kind of twilighty saying as Stephen isn't slipping up on the whole drinking human blood thing but hey bottom line the books on both series are way better so read the books and see for yourselves the only thing they have really in comon is boy meets girl and well sh*t boys a vampire lol fun fun.

For all the people who are saying that Twilight is the same as Vampire Diaries, they clearly have not read Twilight.
Twilight is originally based on Stephanie's dream, people. Maybe Stephanie liked VD, who knows? Maybe she was thinking about vampires the day she dreamt about the meadow scene. But Twilight is nothing like VD.
Twilight has a lot more drama, to me, and more romance.
VD has more action, to me, and much more problem solving situations.
I love them both, and they are both great phenomenons but why should you guys fight about something you love? That's just stupid.
If you say Twilight is like VD, read Twilight.
If you say VD is like Twilight, read VD.
Personally, I LOVE Stephan and Elena more.
And personally, I LOVE Edward and Bella more. :)
